Bachelor of Arts, Interior Design (May 2001) – GPA 3.5
From an early age, I viewed spaces in a different way. While others noticed the people in a room, I noticed how light streamed through windows, the balance of textures, and the interplay of colors. Rearranging furniture and experimenting with layouts wasn’t just a pastime; it was an instinctive way of shaping environments.
Interior design became my chosen medium for storytelling. It wasn’t just about aesthetics; it was about creating spaces that evoked emotions, shaped experiences, and reflected the identities of those who inhabited them. Whether designing a cozy café that welcomed strangers or a workspace that inspired creativity, I saw the potential to transform blank canvases into meaningful, functional works of art.
At Howard University, I found the perfect foundation to refine my passion. The program challenged me to integrate creativity with practicality, combining space planning, material selection, and human-centered design. This education strengthened my technical expertise and instilled a deep appreciation for how interior environments influence daily life. My degree in Interior Design set the stage for a lifelong commitment to designing with purpose, where every space I touch tells a story.

Master of Arts, Professional Communication (May 2024) – GPA 3.92
After nearly two decades of successfully managing my family’s commercial printing company, I reached a pivotal moment in my career. I had mastered the operational and technical aspects of the business, overseeing production, managing client relationships, and adapting to the digital evolution of print media. Yet, I recognized that my most significant challenges were not in technology or logistics but communication.
As industries evolve, the need for clear, strategic messaging has become more critical than ever for marketing and client engagement, internal leadership, crisis management, and business sustainability. While communication had always been a natural strength, I knew instinct was not enough. I needed to refine my ability to craft compelling narratives, shape brand perception, and lead with influence.
Pursuing a Master’s degree in Professional Communication was about more than career advancement; it was about transformation. This program equipped me with the expertise to navigate corporate storytelling, design persuasive messaging, and build meaningful connections. It became the bridge between my past in business management and my future in leadership and development, empowering me to mentor the next generation of professionals and explore new opportunities beyond the printing industry.
